Fisher Price has introduced the new Kid Tough DVD player that is both kid friendly and kid tough. Most parents are a little nervous to let junior play with their new laptop or iphone, and if they do they are prepared to catch it mid air. This player could drop and bounce a few times and still be in tact, saving parental disposable income. And at the same time, Kids will be thrilled with owning their own little DVD player made for them. (more…)

Tooth Tunes Junior Hands-on

Tooth Tunes is a toothbrush that is implanted with a tiny CPU that plays one song for two minutes by sending sound vibrations through your jawbone and up on into your ears. We reviewed one previously, but now there is a Tooth Tunes Junior out. This is made for younger kids with music from Disney movies and the like. Like it’s predecessor, the Tooth Tunes Junior also incorporates encouraging messages to the tot such as: “Great job!” and “Keep Brushing!” This particular brush came with the classic song “Bare Necessities” from the Jungle Book. Maybe it will help tots to “forget about their worries and their strife,” when Baloo the Bear sings to them. Other songs available include Lion King’s “Hakuna Matata” and “I can’t Wait to be King,” “If You’re Happy and You Know it Brush Your Teeth.” This is an original enough idea to keep kids entertained so that they’ll look forward to brushing their teeth. The sound was audible to those around us when we brushed, but it was fun. This would be especially fun for the kids to brush with other friends around. Now this is a TV, the HANNSsemitruck 10 Inch LCD television is perfect for any kids room. It’s shaped as a truck with wheels that move and its decorated with graffiti paint. The cab can also be detached from the trailer to add that extra touch of authenticity. This would put Tonka to shame. My Meebas is the newest member of the Mattel family and the latest electronic toy aimed toward girls. My Meebas is similar to Tamagotchi that you have to take care and nurture a small creature in a pixelated LCD screen and if successful something wonderful happens. The twist with My Meebas is that once your Meebas has reached adulthood the capsule that the LCD screen is attached to will pop open and reveal a small stuffed Meebas character. There are 60 different My Meebas characters to choose from and 6 different virtues. The identity of each virtue is unknown until the Meebas becomes an adult and you get to see the surprise in store. My Meebas will retail for $19.99. The best thing I will say about the launch of this toy today was the happy faces of the little girls playing with the My meebas. They were from the Lower Eastside Girls Club and besides the basic interest of it being a new toy they also found it exciting as a gadget which can only tug at this geek girl’s heart strings.
